Booking Policies at MaMassage Brooklyn

But sometimes potential clients may have questions about our booking policies before they come in, so let’s break it down.

When you are ready to book you can click on this link or the words BOOK NOW on various pages of our website to book your appointment.
We DO require online booking and prepayment for all massage services. Our cancellation policy is as follows, and you automatically agree to these policies by scheduling, so please make sure you have read through them.
If you cancel your appointment within less than 24 hours of the scheduled time, or do not show up to your appointment, or request to reschedule within that time frame, you will be charged the full appointment fee.
Outside of the 24 hour window, appointments can be rescheduled by the client within the booking system without penalty. However, appointments can only be rescheduled twice before you receive a warning message that third selected time will be the final rescheduling opportunity.
If you book an appointment and then cancel it at any time, you will be charged a $6 credit card processing fee (unless you choose to reschedule or keep the full fee in store credit for future booking.)
Please note that arriving late to your session may result in a shorter appointment to not penalize clients booking after you. Clients over 20 minutes late may not be seen and will be charged a cancellation fee.
If you have to cancel your massage due to going into labor, we of course make an exception and refund your fee to store credit for use in scheduling a postpartum massage.
COVID-19 Cancellations: If you test positive, please contact us at kiera@mamassage.org or 347 804 3716 to reschedule your appointment without penalty (with proof of illness or other documentation.)
On the day of your appointment, please arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. We do not have a receptionist, as our studio includes only our lovely treatment space, so please be aware to arrive no more than 10-15 minutes early for your appointment, or you may interrupt the session before yours. While there is seating in the building lobby, there is not on our second floor landing. There are gender neutral restrooms on both floors. PLEASE be aware that during the warmer months, VANDERBILT AVE is closed to traffic due to the Open Streets program, please plan your arrival accordingly. Please also be aware that while there are parking meters on Vanderbilt Ave when it is open to traffic, they are 2 hour meters and it can difficult sometimes to get one. There is alternative side parking on our block on Tuesdays and Fridays which can impact parking availability. There is a paid parking lot at 585 Dean Street around the corner from us. The closest trains are the Q/B to 7th Avenue or the 2/3 to Bergen Street, but we are also just a 10 minute walk from Atl Ave/Barclays center, so you can plan your timing accordingly.
If you are booking an appointment for someone else, please put their first and last name, email address and phone number in the booking notes so we can change the appt details over to them and get their consent and medical forms signed. If the booking is a surprise, please note that as well- we’ll need their contact info at least 24 hours before the appt time.
Please be aware that while this practice centers perinatal care, it is also inclusive of non pregnant clients who identify as women, transgender, non binary and gender non conforming. We do not treat cisgender heterosexual male clients- if you need a referral, please email kiera@mamassage.org
