Benefits of CBD massage

Written by MaMassage Brooklyn owner / founder Kiera Nagle, MA, LMT

I'll admit it- for a long time I was a skeptic about the efficacy of CBD. The studies were small but promising, but I'm never one to jump on the wellness trend bandwagon.

Then, I had an injury that could have impacted my work as a massage therapist. I was staying with my mom and she convinced me to try her CBD salve. And I was blown away at the effect it had on my pain, mobility and the calming aspect to my nervous system. I was sold! But it's still taken me another year or so of researching and trying products before I felt comfortable introducing CBD into our practice.

But now we're ready! We are utilizing the CBD/CBG Super Salve from Susan's CBD - a woman owned company in Colorado that lab-tests the effectiveness of their products, which are strongest on the market- the CBD/CBG Super Salve contains 2,000 mg of CBD per oz and 500 mg of CBG per oz.

You can select this new service at the time of booking, or pay in the studio to upgrade to this enhancement to your massage if you and your MT determine it may be helpful.  We are also selling the Susan's CBD products in office for home use.

A few points to note:

  • These products DO NOT contain THC and are not psychoactive

  • These products are NOT RECOMMENDED for pregnant or nursing clients- here's why

  • These products may contain ingredients that are allergens for some folks (coconut / almond oils and beeswax) so PLEASE check with your MT for an ingredient list before application if that is a concern
