Do you take insurance payment for massage?
We get asked this question a lot at MaMassage Brooklyn, so we decided to do a blog about it!
While we do not accept insurance as a payment method at MaMassage Brooklyn, you may be able to submit your receipts for massage therapy appointments (which include an NPI number) for reimbursement to HSA/FSA accounts and other insurance plans. We can issue you a superbill with IDC-10 codes.
Do you have an HSA (Health Savings Account) or FSA (Flexible Spending Account) through your employer or insurance? If so, do you have funds in these accounts that need to be utilized before the end of the year? Check in with HR, your employer, or your insurance to see if massage therapy is applicable for spending.
It is best to book your appointment under the "Medical Massage" service if that is helpful for the documentation you need. Even if you are pregnant, medical massage is a good choice, we will tailor your session accordingly. Another service that is more often reimbursed is Manual Lymphatic Drainage or MLD. If you've been interested in trying this service, now is the time!
It's the last stretch of the year now and we are getting booked, so set up your remaining appointments for the year based on your HSA/FSA budgets.
Even if you don't have these types of accounts, we hope to see you before the end of the year for a massage!
